Neptune Orient Lines (NOL), which runs the world's eighth-biggest container shipping line, carried 8 percent more cargo on its ships in the four weeks to October 20, while revenue per container fell 9 percent.
Neptune Orient Lines, controlled by Singapore's government through its investment arm Temasek, said in a statement on Monday that its container shipping arm APL transported 168,200 40-foot equivalent units (FEUs), a standard industry measure, between September 23 and October 20. Average revenue per container fell 9 percent to $2,665 in the same period compared with a year ago.
