A meeting of Karachi Goth Regularisation Committee was held here on Thursday with its chairman Sindh Minister for Mineral Development Irfanullah Khan Marwat in the chair.
The meeting discussed the issue of goth regularisation and decided to expedite the task soon. Irfanullah Khan Marwat speaking on the occasion said that 808 Sindh goths were in Karachi, out of them 458 goths had already been regularised by issuing ownership rights to 51421 villagers, while remaining 350 goths would be regularised soon.
He said that Goth regularisation process was being carried out on merit basis so that due rights could be given to all deserving citizens. He said that all civic facilities, including roads, schools, power, water and hospitals would be provided to these goths. He said that work of regularising old Sindh goths of Karachi was in process with accelerated pace.
He asked concerned officers to take stern action against those groups that had illegally occupied government lands in Karachi. He said that all encroachers should be dealt with according to law. He said that if any officer was found helping these groups he would also be taken to the task. Senior Member Board of Revenue Syed Anwar Haider, EDO, DDO Revenue and other senior officers attended the meeting.
