The foreign ministers of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which groups 57 Muslim countries, condemned the recent Israeli massacre in Beit Hanoun in Gaza Strip.
They also called for convening an international peace conference to find a just and lasting solution for the Arab-Israeli conflict, according to a resolution adopted at the end of an emergency session of the Executive Committee of the OIC foreign ministers held at the OIC headquarters here on Saturday.
The foreign ministers decided to break the Israeli-imposed siege on the Palestinian people and to launch an international action to end the blockade as well as to compel Israel to release the tax revenues due to the Palestinian Authority. They also called for the effective implementation of OIC resolutions regarding boycott of Israeli companies.
The committee slammed Israel for perpetrating the Beit Hanoun massacre and its persistent crimes against the Palestinian people as war crimes and crimes against humanity. It also voiced deep concern over the deteriorating situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem, as a result of the relentless assault by the Israeli occupation forces, which have killed and wounded hundreds of Palestinian civilians, including women and children.
It held Israel and its leaders responsible in their personal and legal capacity for the consequences of these crimes and reaffirmed the need to bring them to trial and prosecute them as war criminals.
The foreign ministers denounced the use of veto by the United States to block the draft resolution on the Beit Hanoun massacre, which had been presented by Qatar on behalf of the Arab Group.
