The Chief of the Joint Staff of the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces His Excellency General Saleh Bin Ali Al-Muheia declared here tonight that the relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan were exemplary and also in the promotion of Defence co-operation between the two brother Islamic countries.
Khadim Al-Haramin King Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz and President Pervez Musharraf supported and patronised this growth.
He said Saudi Arabia admired that manner in which Pakistan had developed and looked forward to the further strengthening of ties between the two brother nations in the day ahead. He also looked forward to the participation of his delegation in the Defence Exhibition IDEAS-2006, which was considered by Saudi Arabia as an important exhibition.
The Saudi Arabian Chief of the Joint Staff General Saleh Bin Ali made the above statement at a reception hosted for him by the Saudi Arabian Ambassador in Pakistan H.E. Ali S. Awadh Asseeri. Welcoming the visit by the Saudi military delegation to IDEAS 2006, Ambassador Asseri said that the visit of the Saudi Arabian Chief of the Joint Staff General Saleh Bin Ali underlined the very close ties that exist between the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The Chairman of the Pakistan Senate Muhammadmian Soomro, who specially attended the reception also welcome the Saudi General and lauded the very close ties that exist between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim, who also specially attended the reception, while welcoming the Saudi Arabian delegation's visit also presented gifts to the Saudi General the Saudi Ambassador and Consul General H.E. Dr Hassan A. Attar.
The Corps Commander Lieutenant General Ahsan attended the reception and welcome the Saudi General Saleh Bin Ali and members of his delegation and stressed on the occasion the close ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Dean of the Consular Corps in Karachi H.E. Jameel Abdul Wahab A. Salam and Consul General of the Arab countries as also Saudi Arabian military officers posted in Karachi along with Deputy Consul General Naif Al-Rashid, Hasan Flimban and Yahya Hassan Mallah were also present at the reception.
The Saudi Arabian Ambassador thanked all the guests who attended the short noticed reception including Senate Chairman Mohammadmian Soomro, Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim and Corps Commander Lieutenant General Ahsan. Senior Pakistan military officers were also present on the occasion. It may be mentioned here that a large number of foreign delegation have arrived already in Karachi for the opening of the five-day IDEAS-2006 exhibition which has the Theme of Arms for Peace.
