Ibad inspects ongoing uplift schemes

Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan paid a visit to various parts of the city on Saturday evening and reviewed the steps regarding ongoing development schemes, traffic arrangements, sanitary conditions, law and order and also met the people.
He was accompanied by City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, DCO Fazlur Rehman, DIG Traffic Falak Khurshid and other officials.
In various Towns, the concerned town nazims, TMOs and town police officers apprised the governor about the prevailing situation. The governor drove through the three under-passes from SITE to Hassan Square. He also drove through the newly constructed National Stadium flyover and reviewed the work.
He had an appraisal about the ongoing works of Kothari Parade, Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim and Mazar of Abdullah Shah Ghazi. He offered fateha at the mazar, talked to zaireens and issued directives to concerned authorities for speedy completion of works.
Visiting various sections of Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim, the governor issued directives regarding improved plantation, lighting etc. He expressed the hope that Bagh Ibn-e-Oasim, Kothari Parade, Beach Park and Mazar of Abdullah Shah Ghazi as a whole complex would prove as a rare gift for the people of Pakistan.
He said the recreational facilities provided in this complex, would prove attractive for foreign tourists as well and would be a source of pride for Karachiites.
Talking to people during his visit, the governor appreciated the citizen's positive and zealous response about Women Rights Bill and paid them tributes.
Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad expressed the resolve of eliminating 'karo kari', feudal attitudes, domestic violence besides obsolete customs and traditions from the country.
Pointing out that development process was going on a fast pace, he said that previously programme spread over years used to be prepared to complete flyovers and still these would remain incomplete even in double the time.
He said the government designed such programmes for completion in months and showed their completion in months. He described the first beautiful inter-city bus terminal equipped with all facilities as an achievement in the city's history.
He had all praise for the efforts being made by Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal for the city's development and described it as a challenging and worth emulating example for other city government in the country.
The governor told the people that after the completion of ongoing development works and mega projects, Karachi would be considered among world's best and beautiful cities.
In the interior of the province as well, he said, the government was taking steps in the health and education sectors, agriculture and irrigation under a comprehensive programme.
