Pakistan Kisan Movement (PKM) has warned sugarcane farmers against the middleman mafia activated countrywide with the start of crushing season and advised them to start harvesting after the mills' operations are at full swing.
After concluding his visit to the Southern Punjab, PKM Secretary General Hanif Gujjar said the middleman mafia was instigating farmers to sell their standing crops at throwaway prices ahead of the crushing season.
According to a press release issued on Monday, Hanif said the poor farmers were becoming prey to middleman's tactics in order to ensure early cultivation of wheat crop.-PR
