The French Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (UCMTF) is organising two seminars, in Karachi on November 28 and in Lahore on November 30 to help Pakistani textile industry take up the challenges of globalisation in domestic as well as the foreign markets.
The seminars are being organised in collaboration with Agency for Promotion of French Companies abroad (UBIFRANCE) and the economic departments of the embassy of France in Pakistan, under the patronage of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) and sponsored by Habib Bank.
The French textile machinery manufacturers, the 5th world exporters, with annual exports of $1 billion, want to become true partners of Pakistani textile companies and go beyond just offering their equipment, service maintenance, output optimisation and modernisation of existing equipment.
The three workshops, which have been planned relate to: new technologies for cotton wastes recycling and re-spinning, responses to the qualitative evolution of the tufted and woven carpet markets, and fibre to finished goods for hygiene, wipes, medical products, coating substrates and geotextiles.
