The Lahore High Court (LHC) has observed that no orders prejudice to the right of petitioner Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) shall be passed subject to notice for any early date about the cancellation of lease of Mona Project of Wapda at Bhalwal.
The court also called for report and comments from respondent government within a fortnight and allowed the petitioner to make secretary colonies as respondent in its petition.
Wapda in its petition against provincial government contended that respondent government intends to cancel its lease of Mona project at Bhalwal. The petitioner Wapda which is holding the possession of the land for the last 37 years had established a research project there to facilitate the formers of the country. The petitioner was working on water management and land use techniques and providing guidelines to the farmers of the country. The petitioner had spent a huge amount on the project but the respondent Syed Ali Raza has approached the court for establishing dairy farm at the said land.
The petitioner prayed to the court to restrain the respondent government from cancelling lease of the petitioner. The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length, called for report and comments from the respondents.
