Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Multan on Friday staged a protest demonstration to condemn the women protection bill and described it repugnant to Islam and they pledged to wage a struggle against the un-Islamic laws.
The demonstrators, mostly students of religious seminaries, carrying placards and banners chanted slogans against the government's decision and said the amendment in Hudood-Ullah was unacceptable to them.
"Since all the Ulema have declared the WPB as an un-Islamic and repugnant to the spirit of Islam, we will not allow the rulers to promulgate it in the country," MMA leader Rao Zafar Iqbal said. The protestors blocked the main roads for some time and dispersed peacefully.
