The teachings of Sufis are one of the best ways to promote religious tolerance and universal human values in the world. This was stated by Punjab Minister for Auqaf Sahbizada Syed Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah while talking to a 10-member delegation of Ulema, which called on him, here on Monday.
"Sufis impressed non-Muslims of sub-continent with their values and preaching and spread the message of Islam. It was their emphasis on social values such as fair play, peaceful co-existence and amity which actually helped in promoting the quintessential values of Islam", the minister said.
He further said Punjab's Auqaf department is the guardian of such values which have been always been a part of this part of the world. He also urged the students of Madrassahs to also acquire knowledge of computers as well as proficiency over languages to be able to interact with the international community.
