The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has sanctioned Rs 3.943 billion for Dera Ghazi Khan Rural Development Project Phase-II. The CDWP has also approved 30 projects costing Rs 59.2 billion, including foreign assistance of Rs 22.5 billion, officially stated here on Wednesday.
Giving break-up, an official said that out of 30 projects, eight were approved for Punjab costing Rs 23.2 billion, including foreign component of Rs 8.3 billion. Similarly, two projects costing Rs 0.7 billion were approved for Sindh, six projects costing Rs 2.8 billion, including foreign aid of Rs 0.1 billion for NWFP and one project costing Rs 0.2 billion for Balochistan.
He said one project costing Rs 6 billion was approved for AJK and one for Fata with foreign aid component of Rs 0.4 billion and 11 for all over country costing Rs 25.9 billion with foreign component of Rs 13.7 billion.
He said that one project of AJK was about rehabilitation in earthquake areas, which would be implemented by Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (Erra).
These approved projects included 16 infrastructure, 12 social sector and two others, he added. In addition to these 30 projects, eight other projects were also conceptually cleared, which included the Diamer-Basha Dam project costing Rs 390709 million, Kalabagh dam (Rs370502 million) and Akori dam (Rs 266140 million).
Five projects of Punjab government were also conceptually cleared, including Preparatory Analytical Work of Large Cities Project (Rs 60 million), Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project phase-11 (Rs 6000 million), Construction of South West Waste Water Treatment Plant, Lahore (Rs 8501 million), Barani Village Development Project Phase-II (Rs 2800 million) and DG Khan Rural Development Project Phase-II (Rs 3943 million).
