A three-member bench of the Supreme Court directed Mir Faiq Jamali, ex-Minister of Balochistan, to appear before the court on December 01 otherwise face warrants while taking up a case against four ex-ministers regarding their release on parole and non-payment of fine in National Accountability Bureau references. The case was adjourned for Friday.
The Supreme Court bench, comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi and Justice Saiyed Saeed Ashhad on Thursday heard a case of four ex-ministers of Balochistan, who were awarded imprisonment with fine worth millions of rupees in different references filed by NAB but released on parole.
Three other ex-ministers Bahram Khan Achakzai, Sardar Hafeez Loni and Sardar Nisar Ali Hazara, appeared before the court on notice and made request to the bench for granting time to hire services of counsels. The bench rejected the request to the extent of granting more time and allowed to bring their counsels on Friday. Deputy Attorney General, Nasir Saeed Sheikh appeared before the court on notice.
Additional Advocate General, Mehmood Raza Khan represented the provincial government and submitted details about laws regarding parole matters.
