A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab University Registrar Professor Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan here on Friday to review the arrangements for three-day performing arts competitions which would be organised by Punjab University College of Art & Design (PUCAD) from 4th to 7th December, 2006.
Head, Organising Committee and Principal Punjab University College of Art & Design Professor Shahnawaz Zaidi highlighted the arrangements made in this regard. The competitions would be held at Alhamra Hall from 4th to 6th December 2006. Governor Punjab Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd.) will be the chief guest of opening ceremony. Students of 10 universities will participate in these competitions. The winners will be awarded prizes in a ceremony to be held on 7th December 2006.
Moreover, Punjab University vice-chancellor Lieutenant General Arshad Mahmood (Retd.) has said that the current educational development is connected with one another and exchange of delegates is a basic tool to get the knowledge of world.
This was stated by him in a meeting with a six-member delegation of Kabul Medical University, Afghanistan. The delegation was led by Professor Obaid Ullah Obaid Chancellor of the university. The VC briefed the delegation about the Punjab University academic departments and the development being made in science and other disciplines.
