Chaudhry Zaheeruddin Khan provincial minister for Communication and Works has said that patrolling posts are being established under the "Mehfooz Punjab Programme" to provide safe travelling facilities and eliminate crimes on highways.
The construction work on as many as 210 patrolling posts in the 35 districts of the province is in full swing while 250 posts have already been set up. He stated this while presiding over a high-level meeting held to review the pace of work on the patrolling posts at his office, here on Friday.
The meeting was informed that 210 patrolling posts would be constructed with the total cost of Rs 1055.506 million. The chief engineer also apprised the meeting that five patrolling posts are being constructed in district Okara.
Likewise, five patrolling posts in Sahiwal, five in Khushab, seven in Sargodha, eight in Mianwali, two in Bhakkar, eight in Multan, five in Vehari, five in Khanewal, four in Pakpattan, four in Lodhran, eight in Gujranwala, three in Narowal, four in Hafizabad, five in Gujrat, eight in Sialkot, three in Mandi Bahauddin, eight in Bahawalpur, 10 in Bhawalnagar, 10 in R.Y. Khan, eight in Sheikhupura, seven in Kasur, six in Rawalpindi, five in Attock, four in Jhelum, five in Chakwal, eight in Lahore, five in Muzaffargarh, three in Layyah, eight in Rajanpur, five in D.G. Khan, four in T T Singh, seven in Jhang and 10 patrolling posts in Faisalabad would be constructed. The minister directed the officers of the department to accelerate the construction work of patrolling posts.
