Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has regretted inconvenience caused to its valued customers due to malicious cut of under ground cables at Park Road near Chattah Bakhtawar Islamabad side.
The spokesman of Islamabad Telecom Region said in a press release that two cables of 900 and 300 pairs respectively were stolen. As a result, more than 700 phones of areas of Chak Shahzad Scheme-II went dead.
Another incident of malicious cut was occurred at main road (Park Road) Rawal Dam Bridge Islamabad on Sunday night. In which two PTCL cables of 300 pairs were damage by thieves. As a result, 350 phones of VVIPs areas of Buni Gala, Lakhwal, NARC Staff Colony, CDA Scheme-II, Chak Shahzad and Park Road were interrupted.
However, PTCL Staffer rushed to the site promptly and started their efforts for restoration of telecom amid rain. It is hoped that in next 24 hours, telecom system of the affected areas will be restored.
Meanwhile, PTCL vigilant staff also caught two thieves who were involved in cutting the under ground cables particularly in the rural areas of Islamabad for the last two months. both thieves were handed over to the police station Chak Shahzad Islamabad. The investigation is being underway.
