Pakistani lifter Awais Akbar topped in Group B of the men 77kgs weightlifting competition of the Doha Asian Games here on Monday at Al-Dana Hall. But his chances for a medal heavily depends on the out come of the Group A. Awais lifted a total weight of 288 kgs in snatch and clean and jerk and was followed by Bahrain's Ahmed Ali Naham and Oman's Fahad Thani.
"We cannot say exactly what are the chances of Awais for securing a medal, it all depend how the other lifters placed on Group A perform and if they lifted better weight then he has no chance for a medal", said team manager Hafiz Imran Butt while talking to APP here on Monday.
