Engineering Development Authority (EDA) is soon replacing Engineering Development Board (EDB), said Federal Minister for Industries, Production and Special Initiatives Jahangir Khan Tareen here on Tuesday.
Talking to newsmen at the inaugural ceremony of first International Foundry Congress and Exhibition-2006, he said the proposed organisation would be entrusted with the formulation of 20-year plan for the engineering sector development.
"The EDA will also prepare an action plan for every sub-sector of the Engineering industry," Tareen said. He said that a meeting of all the stakeholders of the auto sector would be held in Islamabad on December 12 to discuss a five-year plan for this booming industry.
