The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the law officer to seek instructions from quarters concerned and appear before the court on next date of hearing in a petition filed by president, Pakistan Overseas Employment Association (POEA), Engineer Syed Muhammad Ilyas.
The petitioner contended that he in his capacity as POEA president raised voice against the corrupt FIA officials for their involvement in human smuggling, but the delinquent officials of the agency raided his office in Gujranwala and got him arrested.
He complained that the agency officials tortured him and kept in different FIA offices in Gujranwala and Lahore and at last registered a FIR against him and put him behind the bars. He submitted that he secured a bail from the special judge but the FIA officials again implicated him in other cases.
The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length, ordered to hand over the copy of court orders to the law officer and also seek instructions from quarters concerned.
