Sports historian, journalist and author Mukhtar Bhatti has written a very interesting book on One-day cricket titled 'Silver Jubilee of One-day Cricket' in which he has highlighted the history of One-day cricket and given details of the various matches in OIDs played by Pakistan since its debut in One-day cricket in February 1973 playing against New Zealand at Christchurch.
The book has on its cover the flags of the countries, which have taken part in One-day cricket, along with the most prominent Pakistan players, including Inzamam, Wasim Akram, Shahid Afridi, M Yusuf, Zaheer Abbas and others, said a press release.
In a foreword prominent banker and sports enthusiast, Shaukat Tareen lauded the efforts made by Mukhtar Bhatti for compiling this book. Tareen said that the book would have permanent value, both as a guide and memory refresher. He said that Bhatti's book on Silver Jubilee of One-day Cricket would be a useful addition to the scanty sporting book culture in Pakistan.
The book has also messages from Secretary Overseas Pakistanis Division of the Federal Government Aslam Sanjrani, who is himself a sports enthusiast and Najum Latif, Honorary curator of the Cricket Museum of the Lahore Gymkhana Club.-PR
