LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan laid the Punjab Civil Administration Ordinance 2016 before the House, here Monday.
He also introduced the Punjab Drugs (Amendment) Bill 2017.
Shrugging of opposition's reservations, the Law Minister said, he believed in strengthening of democratic and constitutional institutions.
Responding to a question, he said, military courts were set up with consensus among all political forces under specific and unusual circumstances. He said these courts provided relief.
Today, the sitting, which was first of 26th session of the present assembly, was commenced with Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal in the chair.
The House took up its entire agenda amid opposition's protest over Law Minister's remarks against political parties.
The Minister responded to three call attention notices moved by PTI's Saadia Sohail Rana and PML-N lawmakers.
The House kept pending a privilege motion for one week.
The standing committees on Revenue & Relief and Excise and Taxation tabled their reports in the House.
On completion of day's agenda, the Chair adjourned the sitting till Tuesday 10 am.
