Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has said that the government has completed land survey for establishing cottage industrial zone in the metropolis. Speaking at a meeting of Pakistan Industrial Promotion Forum (PIPF) on Sunday night, he said that an announcement about the allocation of land for cottage industries would be made soon.
The governor announced establishment of Industrial Government Liaison Committee for resolving problems faced by industrial community in pursuing business activities. The government and business community were making efforts to improve working condition and to boost trade environment as they enjoyed very cordial relationship, he added. Ibad observed that the province was making progress in all sectors of life at a fast pace and the government was also concentrating on poverty alleviation.
About law and order, he said that Pakistan should remain vigilant against terrorist activities so that economic progress could not be hindered. City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal also spoke and said that the government had undertaken a comprehensive development plan for industrial areas. The city government was making an investment of Rs 400 million in New Karachi Industrial area, Rs 480 million in Federal B Area industrial area, Rs 450 millon in Landhi industrial area and Rs 200 million in Korangi Industrial area for improving roads, sewerage and water supply system.
