City District Government Karachi (CDGK) is going to establish emergency centre for the period of ten days to help public lodge complaints during Muharram on toll-free numbers.
City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal said that special arrangements made for Eidul Azha would also be continued in Muharram in order to facilitate general public to perform rituals. He also announced that each town administration would also set up such centre for the same purpose. Presiding over an important meeting on Monday convened to review the arrangements prior to Muharram, he expressed deep satisfaction over the efforts made by CDGK officials. General public will be performing Muharram rituals with more facilities than previous years in the metropolis, he asserted.
District coordination officer (DCO) Karachi, Fazlur Rehman, town nazims, TMOs, additional vice-chairman of KWSB Imamuddin Shehzad, MD, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Brigadier Iftikhar Haider, KESC representative Adnan Bashir, renowned scholars Abbas Kameli, Mirza Yousuf Hussain, Moosa Abdi, Syed Haider Hassan Rizvi, Safdar Raza, Shabbir Mazhar, Shamsul Haq and others attended the meeting.
However, the City Nazim ruled out to carry out uplift projects in private residential societies, saying that CDGK's prime focus was on those projects which would facilitate general public in the city. Uplift projects of Rs 25 million in Jaffer Tayyar Society have been undertaken, in addition to carpeting of roads leading to imambargah in the area, he apprised.
Kamal also assured to repair the roads leading toward imambargah adjacent to Abul Hassan Ispahani Road and Abbas Town on priority basis. He added that construction of five important routes around Ancholi was being carried out in full swing out of which three had been completed, while the rest would soon be finished.
