The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested nine drugs smugglers in separate operations recovering 24.050 kilograms fine quality heroin, 59.250 kilograms of charas, 800 grams opium and 14 grams of cocain from their possession.
Briefing the newsmen, the ANF Joint Director, Colonel Wasif Sajjad said they had received information about the smuggling of heroin abroad. "We off-loaded a passenger Wakeel Khan of Khyber Agency from Islamabad - Bangkok - China bound flight at Islamabad airport. The smuggler was carrying 95 heroin- filled capsules in his stomach. After stomach was washed 700 gram heroin was recovered.
He said that 1.200 kilograms of fine quality heroin was recovered from Hiace No K-2666 Peshawar. One Ghulam Hussain of Karkhana Market, Peshawar, was arrested.
He said 40 kilograms charas was recovered from a Hiace No C-1243 Peshawar while two persons Riffat Abbas and Sagheer Hussain of Gujjar Khan Rawalpindi were arrested. Five kilograms charas was recovered from Hiace No LZJ-7464 and smuggler Ghulam Mohammad of Chamakni, Peshawar was arrested.
