In an attempt to curb cyber terrorism, China has decided to after unauthorized internet connection that bypass the governments security protocol majorly inclusive of all VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) in efforts to controlling the web.
This clearing-out is part of a 14-month campaign by Chinas Ministry of Industry and Information Technology with the aim of cleaning up the countrys internet service provider market.
Nevertheless, China has gradually been tightening its grip over the usage of its denizens internet use. Earliest example being this month, when the country ordered the local app stores to register with the government.
Chinas IT ministry ordered the internet backbone providers and ISPs to weed out any and all unauthorized VPN use on Sunday in a notice. However, it also entailed that businesses linked with overseas offices will be exempted from the cease order.
