President, China Metallurgical Corporation (MCC), Young Fu called on Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Amanullah Khan Jadoon and discussed progress of Dudder Lead-Zinc project being carried out by his Company in Balochistan.
Amanullah Jadoon said MCC is conducting feasibility study for setting up a steel mill at Kalabagh, which will help become the country self-reliance in the steel production besides strengthening the economy.
Young Fu briefing the minister said MCC, which cantres all requirements of steel in China is operating the Sandak copper project, besides Dudder Lead-Zinc project. Initially, the company will invest 72 million dollar, which will be enhanced to 100 million dollar, he added.
The minister said the government is offering different types of incentives to attract foreign investment in mineral sector. He said besides copper, lead and zinc the country is bestowed with vast reservoirs of iron and iron ore and said "We will welcome investment of Chinese MCC in these projects." Secretary Petroleum, Ahmed Waqar, Director General, Minerals and officials of the Chinese company were present during the meeting.
