Twenty-nine Brigadiers have been promoted to the rank of Major Generals. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held at General Headquarters presided over by the Chief of Army Staff General Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday.
Out of approximately 846 officers granted commission in the Army between 1978 to 1979, only 29 (3.42pc) officers have been recommended for promotion to the rank of Major General by the Selection Board.
