Arif Suleman, Thailand Honorary Trade Advisor Pakistan addressing the media here on Thursday averred that trade between Pakistan and Thailand two friendly countries has been increasing rapidly.
He accompanied by Consulate General Thailand Karachi Joompol Manaschuang, Kanyarat Vongskul Director Thai Trade Center Dhaka stated that trade balance between the two countries could be maintained and for that trade shows could play a vital role.
He said in order to promote and get a feeler of the large variety of Thai products, the three-day single country exhibition titled 'Thailand Exhibition 2007'was being organised by the Department of Export Promotion, Ministry of Commerce Royal Thai Government and was being held at Karachi from January 24-26 and in Lahore on January 20-22, 2007.
About the products to be displayed at the exhibitions, he said a large range of products from Thailand including auto parts and accessories, electrical appliances, household items, kitchenware, construction materials, hardware and machinery, gift and decorative products, health and beauty products, leather products and foot wear, stationery products would be displayed in the exhibitions.
He along with other Thai dignitaries averred that there were many potential sectors in which Pakistan and Thailand where both countries could mutually benefit were hotel and tourism, construction, leather, Agro based industries and fisheries, power generation, infrastructure development, he added.
He dilated that there was vast scope of promotion of trade between the two friendly countries, which could be promoted to the tune of $1,000 million if efforts were made to do so, he added.
Suleman said the main reason for holding trade exhibitions home and abroad was to create business platform for exporters and the perspective buyers to have a physical business chatting, he pointed.
