The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has imposed 5 percent regulatory duty (RD) on the import of Emamectin Benzoate in addition to the normal duty applicable on the import of this item with immediate effect.
The board on Wednesday issued an SRO 44((I) 2007 to levy RD on the item falling under Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) heading No 3808.1060. The measure would provide tariff protection to the local industry discouraging dumping of the product.
Through an SRO. 43(I) 2007, the board has exempted customs duty on the import of Aluminium Ingots falling under PCT heading 7403.1100 imported during July 18, 2006 to January 18, 2007.
The CBR has also issued SRO.(I)/2007 to reduce customs duty from 35 to 5 percent on import of Dumpers for cement industry. To provide efficient means of transport to cement industry, the CBR has reduced the import duty on off highway dump trucks from 30% to 5% and cement semi-trailers from 30% to 5%.
Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved this proposal to lower the rate of duty on import of these vehicles to facilitate the cement industry.
