The government has appointed Asma Anisa as Pakistan's ambassador to France, said a Foreign Office notification on Saturday. Asma Anisa holds Masters degree in Philosophy, and Defence and Strategic Studies.
She joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1974 and served at headquarters as Section Officer (1976-78 and 1981-85), Director (1992-1995) and Director General (2001).
Asma held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan Mission abroad including Paris (1978-80 and 1997-99), Tunis (1985-88) and Beijing (1988-92). She served as Consul General of Pakistan, Los Angeles (1995-1997) and Ambassador of Pakistan, Baku (1999-2001). Presently she is serving as Ambassador of Pakistan to Lebanon since 2003.
