Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) on Saturday said that 24070 telephone lines went faulty within one week and major network suffered due to damage to underground cables during the unplanned development activities continuing in various areas, including Azizabad, Nazimabad, Orangi Town, Pak Capital, etc.
PTCL STR-III spokesman said that the utility suffered revenue loss of millions of rupees due to the damage caused by development work of various civic agencies. "PTCL is taking necessary steps to claim compensation for these losses caused by these civic agencies," he added.
Necessary repair/maintenance work was taken in hand immediately by PTCL maintenance team and many interrupted lines were restored, and repair work is still in progress, he said.
