The Punjab government has finalised Madrassah Reforms Programme under which educational facilities at these institutes will be improved along with the induction of qualified staff. Punjab Minister for Auqaf Sahibzada Syed Saeed ul Hassan Shah said this while addressing a high-level meeting, here on Saturday, said a spokesman of the department.
The minister observed that 15 new religious institutions will be set up adjacent to shrines of prominent saints in the province, while existing seminaries will be upgraded. He said Madrassah students will be imparted education of various disciplines including mathematics, science, computers, English literature, along with the religious studies. He further said the reforms programme is geared to broaden mental horizon of students enrolled with the seminaries and to help them realise their natural potential so that they may contribute to the national mainstream.
