Molecular medicine, an emerging field of medical science in Pakistan, would play an important role in the human health soon. Chairman Senate and Acting President Mohammadmian Soomro said this at the inauguration ceremony of the workshop on "Molecular Medicine and Drug Research" here on Saturday.
He appreciated the role of Comstech in the achievements made in the frontier technologies.' He appreciated the efforts of Dr Atta-ur-Rehman and his team for running the Centre with diligence and complete dedication.
He assured his all out support to Dr Atta and to Comstech in education and relevant scientific ventures being carried out by HEC, showing government's full confidence in his abilities and sincerity.
Federal Minister/Chairman Higher Education Commission/ Co-ordinator General Comstech, Dr Atta-ur-Rehman said that World Bank perceives the educational reforms and progress in Pakistan as a silent revolution. He said, nine Universities of Engineering, Science and Technology of international standard and quality with the assistance of foreign countries would be operative in Pakistan by next year.
The other seven Universities will be made functional by October, next year. One university in Peshawar with Chinese collaboration, one at Multan with assistance of the Netherlands, two Universities at Karachi with the assistance of Italy and South Korea, two at Lahore with German and Austrian help and one in Quetta whose donor is yet to be decided, he added.
