A Chinese court has given a man a suspended death sentence for storing dynamite at a hospital, causing an explosion that killed 35 people and injured dozens of others, Xinhua news agency said on Saturday.
Wang Jinsheng, a private mine operator and administrator of the hospital, was convicted of illegally trading, transporting and storing 11,000 kg (24,250 lb) of dynamite and 27,000 detonators. The blast in April last year destroyed three neighbouring buildings and six small houses. An investigation found the explosives had "spontaneously ignited".
