A motorcycle bomb killed two people and wounded seven in a crowded market in India's troubled north-eastern state of Assam on Saturday, police said. They said suspected rebels belonging to the separatist United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) were behind the explosion in Tinsukia town, about 600 km (370 miles) east of the state's main city, Guwahati.
"The bomb was kept on a motorbike on the roadside," a police officer told Reuters by telephone from Tinsukia. A man died on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries in a hospital, he added.
