Second Saarc Business Leaders Conclave (SBLC) will take place in Mumbai on February 17-18 to explore the ways and means for a sustainable economic and social stability in the region.
The summit will be held under the aegis of Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) along with all national federations representing Saarc countries.
The World Bank has also joined as a knowledge partner. Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the conclave whereas Secretary General Saarc Chenkyab Dorji will also address the delegates.
The summit will address the common challenges that incorporate the whole region particularly India and Pakistan. Much focus is needed to create peace constituencies without which even the regional development cannot be ensured.
Commerce ministers from all the Saarc member states have confirmed their participation to address the conclave along with prominent scholars, top corporate leaders, media and entertainment figures, NGOs, development activists and business leaders from all over the world to cooperate for augmenting economic and regional integration among Saarc member states.
State Minister of Commerce Hamid Yar Hiraj will represent Pakistan where respective commerce ministers from other Saarc countries will enforce commitments to government-industry partnership and promote regional economic cooperation in Saarc as will as their trust on private sector as the engine of growth.
