City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has inaugurated a project to lay down water and sewerage pipelines and repairing roads in Gulistan-e-Johar area with the estimated cost of Rs 550 million and also announced to construct flyover from Johar Morr to Millennium Mall for which the work will be started within next two months.
He was addressing a public gathering at Johar Chowrangi on Sunday after laying foundation stone for the project laying 33-inch diameter pipeline to provide additional 3 million gallons daily (mgd) water to the residents of Gulistan-e-Johar.
Mustafa Kamal said the Haq Parast leadership in the city was resolving lingering problems of last 50 years as the residents of Gulistan-e-Johar were facing various problems for the last 30 years. "We have decided to upgrade this locality to spend billion of rupees, he mentioned. "The city government will spend Rs 60 million for the rehabilitation of sewerage system as well as Rs 390 million for the construction of road network in the area", he announced.
Resolving traffic-related problems in the area, he said the city government had decided to construct flyover from Johar Morr to Millennium Mall and they had completed the planning to start the work within next two-and-half months.
He added the people of Karachi were hopeful to see the projects, which had been completed during last one year.
He also asked people of the area to monitor the development projects in their respective areas and if they feel any mismanagement, they should inform us to take action.
