Chairman, Pakistan Steel Linepipe Industry Association (PSLIA), Malik Tariq Mahmood has called for developing small industries to give sound and strong footing to country's economy.
As a result of development of small industry in the country, a strong and stable economy will emerge, therefore, the government should extend benefits to the investors along with the ending of difficulties created by different departments for trade and business community, he viewed this during a meeting on Sunday with a group of industrialists who gathered to discuss different problems and complaints regarding sales tax.
Malik Tariq Mahmood also demanded that sales tax audit should be stopped forthwith and urged the CBR authorities to take immediate notice of the difficulties being faced by the industrialists at the hands of sales tax authorities. He termed the current audit procedure as baseless and uncalled for and said it will bring no improvement in the industrial sector and rather will disintegrate the industry further.
The association chairman apprehended that if the problems being faced by the industrialists at the hands of sales tax officials were not resolved, there is every possibly that the pipeline industry will undergo unbearable losses.
