Seventeen tourist information centres from across the country are being refurbished comprehensively in a bid to attract maximum number of domestic and foreign tourists, Managing Director, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), Salman Javed said.
Talking to PTV on Sunday, he said the services of energetic professionals would be hired for making the information centres as tourists friendly. A comprehensive and elaborated strategy has been devised to attract international as well as domestic tourists into various potential tourist resorts of the country.
Elaborating, he said PTDC has developed a website to ensure maximum facilities for potential tourists. Besides an e-marketing strategy has also been actively pursued for enhancing tourism in the country, he added. Numerous low cost packages have already been offered to domestic tourists aiming to urge the countrymen to help promote tourism in Pakistan.
The tourists from around 24 countries are being offered visa at airport on arrival. Tourism marketing strategy has been evolved to target identified markets, he added.
As many as 38 PTDC motels are functioning across the country, out of which 14 motels are working in the Northern Areas.
The PTDC is encouraging private public partnership. Eight vacant plots of department have been offered to private sector to build and operate their business organisation. PTDC will ensure efficient environment for private parties.
