The NWFP Governor Lieutenant-General Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai (Retd) has said that Fata would be provided with the facility of natural gas in two phases adding that in the first phase of the project, most part of the tribal area would get gas from the Gurguri gas fields.
He was talking to S.M Hasnain, General Manager, SNGPL Peshawar, who called on him at Governor's House to discuss matters relating to supply of natural gas to different parts of the NWFP and Fata from the Gurguri gas fields of district Karak here on Sunday.
The governor said that at the inauguration ceremony of gas distribution at Karak on 6th, January 2007, approval was sought from the President for supply of gas to a large portion of Fata and some additional parts of NWFP.
Giving the details the governor stated that in the first phase gas would be supplied to Thall, Dogar, Parachinar, FR Kohat, FR Peshawar, Orakzai, Khyber, Mohmand and Bajaur agencies.
Similarly, he added in the second phase gas would also be provided to North Waziristan Agency from Bannu and Tank and South Waziristan Agency from DI Khan side.
