Close circuit television cameras will be installed at the entire route of main procession of Zuljinnah and important points of Majalis in the city for security purpose.
Capital City Police Officer, Muhammad Anwar Virk told APP here on Sunday that on the special directive of IGP, a heavy contingent of armed police personnel has been deployed on duty during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram.
He said integrated security teams have started round-the-clock patrolling in wireless fitted jeeps and pick-ups in all the sensitive areas.
He said all divisional Additional SSPs, SDPOs and SHOs have been directed to check the vehicles with unauthorised blue lights, tinted glasses and green number plates.
Virk said additional force would be deployed in the areas identified as "A" & "B" category trouble spots to maintain religious harmony.
He said battalions of reserve police would also assist the local police. CCPO said army troops would assist the police and civil administration for effective law and order.
He said leaves of police have been cancelled and nobody is allowed even station leave during the weekly off. Virk, who is holding the dual charge of the post of DIG, Sheikhupura Range said all DPOs of Kasur, Sheikhpura, Okra and Nankana Sahib districts have already been issued necessary instructions to mobilise the peace committees for religious harmony and tranquillity during the month of Muharram-ul-Harram.
He said patrolling position of SSP, ASSP/DSP and SHOs would be checked through wireless by him personally and by special surveillance teams.
