At the start of the new week on Monday, the BRIndex30 experienced a seesaw pattern in the first hour of trading time. It opened in the positive zone at 11,368.80, but soon went down and remained there for more than an hour before recovering and closing at 11,438.21 with a positive change of 70.43 points, or 0.62 percent.
It saw the intra-day high of 11,444.94 and low of 11,310.62. The volume amounted to 90,822,900 shares, which was 71.14 percent of market total and 86.04 percent of KSE-100 index. The volumes of KSE All Share and KSE-100 were 127,671,840 and 105,562,100, respectively.
BR Commercial Banks Index was the most active sector. It closed at 4,476.67 with a net positive change of 41.65 and percentage change of 0.94. The turnover for this sector was 23,045,300.
BR Power Generation and Distribution Index was the second most active sector. It closed at 1,189.37 with a positive change of 19.31 or 1.65 percent. The turnover for this sector was 22,932,000. BR Cement Index was the third most active sector. It closed with a turnover of 16,726,500 at 1,249.42, and saw a gain of 9.24, or 0.75 percent.
BR Oil and Gas Index closed at 2,055.17 with a net positive change of 2.13, or 0.10 percent. The turnover was 16,601,500. BR Tech. & Comm. Index closed at 1,476.47 with a downward change of -3.76 and percentage change of -0.25. The volume of this sector was 11,290,500, which was the lowest among BR Indices.
