PML and allies to contest next elections from single platform: Prime Minister
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that PML and its allied parties will contest the next general elections from a single platform on the basis of their performance in office.
The Prime Minister said this while talking to MQM delegation led by Party's Deputy Convenor Dr Farooq Sattar, MNA, who called on him at the Prime Minister House on Tuesday afternoon, says a press release.
The Prime Minister said the PML and MQM would continue to work together to serve the people, improve their standard of living and raise the prestige and strength of the country domestically, regionally and globally.
Shaukat said the government is committed to bring about total socio-economic transformation of Sindh and to achieve this objective all necessary funds will be provided.
He said the federal government, in collaboration with the Sindh government, will start new development projects pertaining to roads, ports, industrial estates, transportation and provision of irrigation water besides initiating schemes to provide gas, water, electricity, healthcare and education to the people at their doorsteps
The MQM delegates appreciated the government's decision of reducing POL prices. They said their party both at the federal and at the level of Sindh is an active partner of the coalition and is working along with the PML and other allied parties to provide good governance to the people. The meeting also discussed various matters relating to the Federal and Sindh governments including the political situation in the country.
Federal Minister for Communication Mohammad Shamim Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Babar Khan Ghouri, Provincial Minister Adil Siddiqui, Member Sindh Assembly Muhammad Hussain, Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed, Nazim Sukkur Naeem Siddiqui, Nazim Mirpurkhas Ghulam Dastgir and Nazim Nawabshah Abdul Rauf were also present during the meeting.-PR
