Sindh Minister for Local Government and Katchi Abadis Muhammad Hussain has ordered complete ban on the construction of high-rise buildings in Sukkur city. He also issued directive to Taluka and UC nazims for ensuring implementation of the ban orders.
While chairing a meeting of officials of Taluka Municipal Administration (TMA) Sukkur, he took strong exception to roads cutting in different parts of the city and asked them to repair the roads without delay. He directed the TMA Sukkur officials to make specific use of funds on repairing roads and not to utilise it in other heads.
He also directed the different heads of executing agencies of TMA not to make bill payments to contractors unless they produce a certificate for the clearance of filth and garbage from the sites. He expressed dissatisfaction on the flowing of drainage water in different parts of the city, and directed TMA officials to do the work on war-footing basis. Besides, he asked them to cover all the manholes of the city to avoid any mishap.
The minister ordered for immediate recruitment of 100 sweepers on contract basis to accelerate the sanitation work. He also directed them to maintain cleanliness and proper sanitary conditions during the Ashura days and also fixing street lights at all important places.
