The American Express Travel Company has acquired the rights of sole Dubai 'visa facility provider' for Emirates airline's passengers travelling from Pakistan. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Emirates and American Express Travel Company, which entitles the latter for providing this facility.
With the opening of American Express Dubai visa service centres in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, travellers flying on Emirates to Dubai or points beyond can obtain a 60-day visit visa, or 96 hours transit visa, with Emirates as their sponsor. This would significantly reduce the visa processing time as the travellers would no longer be required to locate a UAE-based sponsor.
An electronic visa is granted to the applicant in three or more days, subject to the passenger meeting the required eligibility criteria and all documentation being in order. Travellers can submit their visa applications with original documents at any of the city-based centres.
