Punjab Agriculture Minister Arshad Khan Lodhi has announced that the farmers showing record per acre yield of wheat would be awarded tractor, treasure and other agri-equipment by the government. He was talking to a group of farmers belonging to the districts of Faisalabad, Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, and other areas, here on Tuesday.
He said the provincial government would continue facilitating the farmers showing exemplary performance. He said that hundred percent target of wheat sowing has been achieved by the government in Punjab; however, for achieving the target of 17.8 million tonnes wheat yield, the active cooperation of the farmers is a must.
He said the Punjab government has succeeded in achieving the target of sowing wheat over an area of 15.93 million acres which was given by the federal government.
He reiterated the commitment of the government to award tractors and other agro-equipment to the farmers who would show extra-ordinary performance in achieving maximum yield. He asked the farmers to comply with the recommendations of the agriculture department for getting maximum yield.
