Philip Morris International (PMI) on Wednesday announced that it intends to commence its public tender offer for shares in Lakson Tobacco Company (Lakson Tobacco) on February 15, 2007.
In a press release, it said that this announcement follows declaration by Lakson Tobacco Board of Directors of an interim dividend payable to all shareholders whose names appear on the share register of Lakson Tobacco on February 14, 2007. PMI''''s announcement should allow such shareholders to receive the interim dividend and also participate in the public offer.
The public tender offer for Lakson Tobacco will be at the previously announced price of Rs 666.89 per share. Detailed information about the public tender offer will be provided in the public announcement PMI intends to publish on Thursday, February 15.
DIVIDEND: Philip Morris International (PMI) has clarified that equity shareholders would definitely receive Rs 5.80 per share interim dividend recommended by the Board of Directors of Lakson Tobacco Company (LTC) in its meeting held a day earlier. PMI stated this in a letter sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and Karachi and Lahore Stock Exchanges on Wednesday.-PR
