Federal government is making strenuous efforts to mitigate problems being confronted by business community on top priority basis, said Federal Secretary Industries, Production and Special Initiatives, Shahab Khawaja.
Talking to Business Recorder at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Tuesday, he said the government was evolving a strategy for extending common facility support to various industrial sectors of the country.
Shahab Khawaja disclosed that National Industrial Park Development company would establish industrial estates throughout the country and work on the programme would be undertaken shortly.
He disclosed that the government had focused its special attention on activating and tracking the surgical industry of Sialkot on modern production lines. For this purpose, common facility centre for the industry would be set up in the area, which would help in bringing revolutionary changes in surgical industry.
The step was being taken to enable the industry to diversify its production line to high value medical instruments, he added. Shahab Khawaja further disclosed that necessary arrangements were being finalised for setting up sport industries development centre costing more than Rs 272.61 million at Sialkot enabling the sports goods industry to cope with the new challenges.
The regular functioning of Sports Industries Development Centre (SIDC) would enable the sports goods sector to adopt new technology of mechanised ball which is threatening to hand stitched inflatable soccer ball, he added.
