Sheikhupura Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mian Tariq Rehman, while welcoming the Trade Organisations Ordinance (TOO) 2006, has announced to open its membership and also asked the local businessmen to contact the SCCI in case of any trade-related complaints and queries.
According to a chamber's spokesman here on Wednesday, the SCCI president said that the newly promulgated ordinance would help eliminate fake organisations and bring forward true and genuine business leaders. He said that the SCCI would increase its liaison with the concerned government departments to remove the bottlenecks in the way of promotion of trade and industry.
While lauding the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for speedy industrialisation in the province, he invited the attention of the Punjab government towards the deteriorating law and order situation. He said that fast changing global scenario calls for urgent measures to improve law and order, which is a prerequisite for foreign and local investment in the country.
He urged the government to make arrangements for creating awareness among the business community about the day-to-day changes happening at global economic front so that Pakistani merchandise could get right place in the world market. "The Sheikhupura Chamber with the help and co-operation of local business community would be made one of the premium chambers in the coming days," he added.
