Punjab Auqaf Minister Sahibzada Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah has directed Auqaf officials to ensure quality of food brought to shrines and mosques for free distribution. He was presiding over a departmental meeting held at Civil Secretariat here on Wednesday, stated a handout here.
The minister directed the Auqaf administrators to ensure that only hygienic food was distributed at shrines administered by the department. Auqaf minister observed that the shrines of Sufi saints were a source of spiritual guidance for the devotees who thronged the shrines in large numbers.
He stressed that Auqaf department should ensure provision of all the necessary facilities, including potable water, toilets etc. The minister directed that filter plants for providing clean drinking water should also be installed.
