The Ulema and the religious leaders belonging to different schools of thought have assured that they will extend every possible co-operation to ensure unity, religious harmony and tolerance during Muharram in the district.
They were speaking at a Peace Committee meeting held in connection with Muharram-ul-Haram, presided over by Zila Nazim Hameed Akbar Khan Niwani. Members of the Committee pointed out that mosques and Imambarghas situated along main roads in the district be kept under strict security.
They said they would play their due role in promoting unity and harmony among the people. Zila Nazim Hameed Akbar Khan Niwani, while addressing the meeting, appreciated the co-operation of the Ulema and the religious leaders in keeping peace, tranquillity and harmony.
